SLOW HATHA FLOW
This class offers slower pace which also allows the mind and body to slow down. Slow however does not necessarily mean the class is an easy one . Slow Flow classes, combine Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa, and are a good place start if your new to yoga, - enabling you to become comfortable with practicing yoga. This class is suitable for mixed ability students. If you are a beginner, as well as learning the basic postures, you will learn about body alignment and yogic breathing (Pranyama). You will also be introduced to elements of flow where we will move from pose to pose in a sequence (with some resting). More advanced offerings will be given for the more experienced Yogi. This class is a good place to start for progression to Vinyasa Flow. Slow Flow classes gives you the space to refine and strengthen your practice. Slowing the flow down means you can feel the postures deeper whilst also working on flexibility, strength and alignment
GENTLE HATHA
Both Yoga and mindfulness aim to quiet the mind, in order to cultivate a deeper connection to and understanding of the self. They both teach you to tune into your breath, pay attention to bodily sensations, and learn to accept reality as it is in that moment. I do also include a little Yin and/or Restorative Yoga in this class too. This class is best suited to participants who really want to slow down, and want a more gentle class - ideal if you are a beginner to Yoga, recovering from illness/injury, are pregnant or seeking a slow and mindful practice . There will be no fast flow, no sweating, no Sun-Salutations or Vinyasa in this class. You will simply allow your body to gently strengthen, stretch and open, focussing on breath and sensation.
VINYASA FLOW
This class is a more high intensity and calorie-burning than the Slow Flow class, where you will flow continuously from one posture to the other seamlessly. There will be some static posture practice too. Expect to increase body heat and sweat a little in this class (without resting sometimes). This class is more suited to students who have practiced yoga before.
Mixed ability classes are accessible to everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Variations are given so you can challenge yourself or take it easy, depending on how you feel.
If you are new to Yoga you can rest as much as you like - you will learn new things every time you practice and before you know it you will flow with ease, and start feeling the benefits of the practice.
